As if that wasn’t already enough to make it worthy of its own place from the Video Game Hall of Fame, Combat Evolved also laid down the foundation to Halo’s potential as both a casual and a competitive shot. 4. Halo Wars two
Halo Wars 2 was the title that Halo Wars’s devoted following had been awaiting for more than seven years. In certain ways, it was even more predictable compared to its sequel, because of the simple fact that instead of the new and not one of Banished, we fight the Covenant we have seen time and time again.
Luckily, the multi-player Halo Wars was a burst of an adventure. Seeing a Halo RTS really do the job nicely was a treat, and while the game had its lengthy list of bugs and balancing issues, it was nonetheless a testament to the possibility of Halo in this genre. The base made by Ensemble Studios would function as the template for Creative Assembly’s effort almost a decade after Halo Wars 2, and the success of that game has you to thank for being a stepping stone.

6. Halo 4
The long-awaited yield of the Master Chief arrived in 2012 with 343 Industries’s first game, Halo 4. Graphically, the game was magnificent, and it served as an example of how the Xbox 360 hardware had to offer you. While very different from previous music, the rating of Halo 4 has been quite good too.
However, the best aspect of Halo 4 was its narrative. For the very first time, the character of the Master Chief was fully fleshed from the player. Couple this with Cortana as she moans towards her A.I. rampancy, and the various minutes and dialogues between the two iconic Halo characters makes a profound, emotional story that amuses quite heavily onto the heartstrings.
Where Halo 4 fails quite heavily, however, is from the gameplay. Between bad AI enemies and poorly designed levels, the gameplay of Halo 4’s campaign was mostly a chore. Multiplayer wise, the game decided to double down many of Halo: Reach’s poor design decisions, developing a multiplayer that, simply put, did not feel like Halo.
7. Halo 3
Halo 3 has been clearly one of entertainment’s greatest ever releases, even being blamed by some analysts for a decrease in box office revenue that occurred shortly after its release. Unfortunately, I don’t feel that Halo 3 deserves all its fame.
Halo 3 stands as Halo’s best multiplayerto this day. Equipped with comments in Halo 2, Bungie managed to craft one of gambling’s most satisfying multiplayer experiences ever — along with presenting Forge mode. Despite some wonky netcode, Halo 3 was heralded as the devotion of this Halo formula.
The problem with Halo 3 is that this will not transfer over to the campaign, in the story or gameplay esteem. The story, while coherent, felt very awkwardly paced and haphazardly composed. The whole first half of this game did not also contain any character development in any respect, which makes everything to be crammed in later on. In general, it wasn’t able to satisfyingly finish the trilogy’s narrative. In terms of the gameplay, Halo AI had the worst AI in the show, even managing to be intelligent in battle compared to the opponents in Halo 4. While it’s true that Halo 3’s level design was solid, it doesn’t actually matter whether the enemies which fulfill those degrees are lackluster.
